Rifle River Recreation Area is a wilderness located within the AuSable State Forest & provides a variety of recreational opportunities. The Rifle River Recreation Area covers 4,449 acres in Ogemaw County, and is the most predominant recreation facility in the watershed. The park offers 159 campsites, has 14 miles of pathways offering hiking, biking, XC skiing, & snowshoeing, and 7 scenic lakes in its boundaries..
